2014 theme: Get to Know Nuclear
We challenged middle and high school students across the U.S. to showcase their artistic talents and educate the public about the benefits of nuclear science and technology. From medical applications, electricity generation, and even smoke detectors, students submitted memes and posters about the everyday benefits of radiation.
One talented young artist – Alex Rossi (age 18, AZ) was awarded a set of four CD-V 700 Geiger counters, and a set of alpha, beta, gamma sources for his school’s science department.
The runner up, Richard Yang (age 14, MI), was selected by our Facebook fans. He will receive one CD-V 700 Geiger counter for his school.
